The opponent, Professor Bjarte Askeland, described the thesis as well-written and valuable, and also pointed out that Sandberg presents modern Nordic compensation law in the light of new technology and the influence of EU law, while at the same time carrying on a tradition of skill and scientific quality. The examining committee consisted of P\u00e4ivi Korpisaari, Sabina Hellborg and Henrik Udsen.
