Starting this semester, the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL) at Juridicum Stockholms universitet has the privilege of hosting Robin Ollus as guest researcher. Ollus is joining us from the University of Helsinki and specialises in arbitration law. His doctoral research focuses on the arbitral tribunal’s competence to handle allegations and suspicions of criminal conduct in international commercial arbitration. Moreover, the research strives to assess how the function and principles of criminal procedure affect the arbitral procedure when handling such allegations as part of a contractual or non-contractual dispute. As the main method of the research, a comparison of international arbitration in Finland, Sweden and England will be used. The research is unique, as it combines perspectives from both criminal procedure and arbitration to find solutions to this sparsely researched topic of international arbitration. This will no doubt generate interesting discussions in the months to come!
