Legislative proposal to enable digital trade documents under Swedish law

On 12 December, ICC Sweden, together with seven of Sweden’s leading business organizations, submitted a joint legislative proposal to the Government to enable digital trade documents under Swedish law. A new Nordic law journal has been born! Yesterday, the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL) at Juridicum Stockholms universitet, through its director Sara Göthlin, participated in the launch of the Nordic Commercial Law Review (NCLR), an open-access journal that will increase the availability and impact of the work of Nordic legal scholars. Nordic Symposium on Pledge Law

On 23–24 October, the third Nordic Symposium on Pledge Law was held in Stockholm. The event was a collaboration between the Commercial Law Research Centre at Lund University (ACLU), the Oslo Centre for Commercial Law, the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL), and the Gothenburg Centre for Commercial and Maritime Law. Guest researcher at SCCL

Starting this semester, the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL) at Juridicum Stockholms universitet has the privilege of hosting Robin Ollus as guest researcher. Ollus is joining us from the University of Helsinki and specialises in arbitration law. His doctoral research focuses on the arbitral tribunal's competence to handle allegations and suspicions of criminal conduct in international commercial arbitration. Seminar on preparedness and resilience

On september 11th, a well-attended seminar was held at the Stockholm Centre for Commercial Law (SCCL) on preparedness and resilience - particularly on operational crisis management. During the seminar, discussions were held on how the legal framework can be used to improve the conditions for payment systems, capital supply, and risk management to function during a major crisis. We are thrilled to welcome Andreas Gustafsson as Visiting Fellow here at the SCCL and the Swedish Corporate Governance Institute (SCGI)! Andreas has a deep expertise in capital markets law and regulation, moving from senior leadership roles into the position of doctoral researcher. He has just embarked on a research project where he will compare the UK and Swedish equity markets to identify and organise regulatory conditions that supports growth in the wider economy. On 1 July 2025, Sara Göthlin has taken over as the new director of SCCL. With her solid experience and commitment to commercial law, Sara will lead the Centre's work, including strengthening SCCL as a research environment and our international exchanges.Sara Göthlin has been affiliated with the Centre since 2019, and defended her thesis in property and insolvency law in 2023 with elements of financial market law. The professor of private law, as well as the image creator and poet, Per Jonas Nordell has left us suddenly and unexpectedly. He is missing us.
